KWIK3

How it works

From a sentence to a finished job.

One request. Up to three bids. One provider you choose. Here is every step, including the parts about money.

Step by step

  1. 01

    Describe the job

Write what is wrong in your own words and add photos. You do not need to know the trade terms.

    Takes a few minutes.

  2. 02

    We structure the request

KWIK3 sorts the job into a service, asks a few questions a provider would ask, and writes a clear summary. You confirm it before it goes out.

    You approve the summary.

  3. 03

    Providers are invited

KWIK3 invites local providers who are active for that service in your ZIP. They see your city and ZIP, not your street address.

    Nothing to do.

  4. 04

    Up to three bids arrive

At most three bids are active on a request. If only one or two providers bid, we show exactly that.

    Read each bid.

  5. 05

    Choose one bid

You select one exact version of one bid. Its price basis, terms, and review window become the agreement for the job.

    You confirm the selection.

  6. 06

    Pay through KWIK3

You pay to confirm the job. Funds are held by KWIK3 until completion. Payment is simulated in this prototype.

    You confirm payment.

  7. 07

    Schedule the visit

You and the provider agree a time in the job. Your exact address is shared with the provider you chose, and only then.

    Propose or accept a time.

  8. 08

    Approve any change first

If the job turns out to need more, the provider sends a change order. Nothing extra is approved or charged until you accept it.

    Accept or decline.

  9. 09

    Review the completed work

The provider submits completion and your review window opens. You see the exact deadline. Approve early, or report a problem before it ends.

    Approve or report a problem.

  10. 10

    Leave a review

You and the provider review each other. Neither sees the other review until both are in or the review period closes.

    Optional.

Reading a bid

Not every price is a fixed total.

Some jobs cannot be priced safely from photos. Each bid states its price basis in words, so an estimate or a visit fee never looks like a final price.

Fixed price
One firm price for the described scope.
Estimate range
A bounded range. The low end is charged first. Any increase needs your approval.
Hourly with cap
Billed by the hour, never above the cap without your approval.
Diagnostic visit
A visit fee to find the cause. The repair is quoted after, and you approve it first.

An example

Three bids. One great outcome.

Bids appear in the order they arrive. KWIK3 does not sort by price, label a bid as best, or preselect one for you.

Completion review window

Time to check the work.

Each provider sets a review window in the bid. You see it before you choose. When it ends without a reported problem, the job completes and the transfer to the provider can begin.

Same day
Ends 9:00 PM local time the day work is submitted, with at least 4 hours to review.
Next day
Ends 6:00 PM local time the day after work is submitted.
One week
Ends 7 days after work is submitted.
Custom
Ends 48 hours after work is submitted.

The period for leaving a public review is separate and longer.

Safety first

Emergencies do not wait for bids.

KWIK3 is not an emergency service. If you smell gas, a carbon monoxide alarm sounds, or water is flooding and you cannot stop it, get everyone to safety and call 911 or your utility first.
